Our history is a journey full of anecdotes and achievements that have forged the path of Biomont, from its beginnings to its projection as a multinational.
It all began in 1960, when engineer Jesús Pedraglio Mendoza founded our company on November 3 under the motto "Make a good friend." In its early years, Biomont, whose name originates from "BIOlogical BELmont," was dedicated exclusively to the production of biological products, such as soluble powders for poultry farming. This was just the beginning of a dream that quickly began to expand.
In 1972, Biomont took its first major step by exporting over 100 million doses of Newcastle vaccine to Chile, thereby opening the door to other markets in Latin America.
During the 1980s, the company diversified its offerings by developing a line of products for livestock farming, introducing new launches that marked a new era of innovation.
The 1990s brought a significant shift in Biomont's management when Aldo Pedraglio Belmont, the founder’s son, assumed the role of General Manager. Under his leadership, the company drove the development of new products and implemented integrated management across financial, administrative, and production areas. Additionally, the company began exploring new markets in Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Nicaragua.
In 2020, we sadly bid farewell to our founder, Jesús Pedraglio Mendoza, but his legacy lives on. That same year, Aldo Pedraglio De Cossio took on the role of Administration Manager, while Aldo Pedraglio Belmont assumed the position of Chairman of the Board. During this period, Biomont successfully passed the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audit, a milestone reaffirming our commitment to quality. This marked the birth of our organizational culture, founded on order, achieving results, and caring for our employees.
In the following years, we continued growing and adapting to market needs. In 2021, we launched a new line of powders.
Followed by the creation of a solid product line in 2022. This year also marked the opening of a new branch in Ecuador and the implementation of a new ERP system to optimize our operations.
Looking toward the future, in 2023, we began fulfilling our vision of becoming a multinational company. Aldo Pedraglio De Cossio was promoted to Deputy General Manager, and our production plant underwent significant growth. Additionally, for the first time, we launched a commercial for our Proteggo brand on mass media platforms such as television, radio, cinema, and billboards, solidifying our market presence under the recognition of "Peruvian Company 2023."
Today, we continue moving forward with the same passion and dedication that have defined us since the beginning, committed to animal welfare, innovation, and sustainable growth.
